How to Use This Pipe Coping Calculator (USA)
1. Measurements
Accurate measurement is key. Use a high-quality caliper to measure the Outer Diameter (OD) of the pipe you are cutting AND the pipe you are joining to. Remember, USA standard pipes are measured in inches.
2. Alignment
When wrapping the generated paper template around your pipe, ensure the “0” mark aligns perfectly with your centerline tick. Secure it with tape to prevent slipping while tracing.
3. Cutting
Use a torch, plasma cutter, or grinder. Follow the line carefully. For tighter fits, leave a small amount of material (1/16″) and grind to fit for perfect weld penetration.
